Dry Needling

What is Dry Needling?

A room with a table and chairs in it.

Dry needling is a great complimentary modality for those experiencing excessive pain and muscle tightness. It uses small, thin filaments that are sharp with no liquid being injected into the skin (hence the "dry" in dry needling). It's used to target trigger points throughout the body

How Does It Work?

  • Pain relief: when inserted into a trigger point, the brain releases naturally occurring opioids to the area being stimulated by the needle.
  • Trigger point release: the needle creates a micro-trauma to the contracted muscle to stimulate to the brain to promote healthy fluid to the affected area relaxing the muscle.
  • Pain Relief: Helps to manage and reduce pain through targeted electrical stimulation and heat application.
  • Muscle Relaxation: Alleviates muscle spasms and promotes relaxation.
  • Enhanced Recovery: Supports the healing process and complements chiropractic adjustments.
